I fixed my truck, I think. It doesn’t leak. and if it does, not very much.

I fixed DNS, so now rand0m.hpi.net works beautifully every time, as does xeon.hpi.net … so those URLs are working … much easier to remember. use them please 😀

craig hung out at the geekpad all night, which gets me to thinking that I’m gonna need a place sometime soon. And if I’m going to get a place, I need $. I have decided that as soon as a better opportunity arises, my term at HPI will end. Which sucks, cuz then this page has to be moved and blah blah blah, but hey, that’s the breaks. It also gets me to thinkin’ … if craig moves in to the pad, he’ll have this whole new group of friends — that will be pretty cool getting to know all of them.

Talked to mike @ denny’s until 2am … it was good. Made a couple of decisions, like the job one, and generally just had a good time. I must buy shoes tomorrow; the ones I have get sopping wet very quickly, even in 1/2 inch of snow [suck!] Other than that, things are going well. ‘night

So yea, I got this ‘crushlink‘ in my e-mail box today. I’ve been having at that thing for like an hour and a half trying to figure out who has a crush on me. I think it’s mike or craig. That would be disappointing. The first name has 4 or more letters in it, while the last name has 5 letters. That makes me think craig.

The fact that I spent so long at it makes me realize that I am on the verge of being desperate. I think it’s time to shore up my manliness and say that I don’t want/need a woman. That is just a huge fat lie, though. Girls are great. [sigh]

Also, I realized that it is now may. That means that all the april news here needs to be moved off of here. But that means that I have to write a ton more code and make an archiving script, which I really am not feeling to hot about. I think it can wait.

Boy am I glad, another day done with, another day x’d off of the calendar.

Work was suck — I did as little as possible all day. It was good. Went and saw janelle while buying a fuse for some radio equiptment: that was fun. She was all hot and sweaty from working on the set for the school play. It was great [big grin].

Left work, came home, changed clothes and bought $35 of parts so I could change the oil pan gasket on my truck [cuz it’s leaking like hell]. Started a little before 6 and ended right around 8:30pm; the actual gasket part didn’t take long, it was taking off every other damn thing in the way that took forever. Anywho, I’m letting the gasket and sealant cure over night and filling it with oil tomorrow morning. I’m hoping it doesn’t go spewing all over the place.

Went and found janelle tonight, chilled at her place for a while, then came straight home … I am exhausted, and I think a good night’s sleep is definately in order.

So I come back from the lan party on monday morning at like 3:45 am. It was pretty cool. Unpacked my shiz, blah blah, woke up, came to work all late [like 10:30am]. Went out and fixed our wireless crap [I really don’t like working on wireless]and then I talked to steve chapin [from denver] about stuff … he had a really bad weekend. Props to steve for weathering it so well.

Came home last night and my mom was gone to utah. coolness. My dad, however, came unglued about the honda … he told me that he was irate that the honda wasn’t cleaned and it’s in bad shape and how I’m so irresponsible. I was like ‘wtf!?’ He didn’t give me a chance to respond before he stormed off, but I did fill it with gas, and I did put oil in, check tire pressure and clean the interior. I don’t know — tripping off like that isn’t something my dad does; very odd indeed.

So I’m coming home last night from Tony’s place, and my truck starts blowing smoke and whatnot. I pull over, and see I’m leaking oil really badly. I stopped, and bought 5 quarts of oil, all of which I used to get home. The 2 quarts that were left over are on the ground in front of my house. Since I have no plans tonight, I’ll be yanking the bottom end of my engine apart to find out what the fuck is going on. [sarcasm] That should be extremeley enjoyable. [end sarcasm]

I didn’t get to see ryan [w00t] last night because of my truck going to shit. that’s rather depressing. oh well. i believe mike is taking him back to kansas right now, probably has craig along with him; tony is staying in woodland park, and janelle is working on the play, which leaves me to do nothing tonight. I guess that works out okay, as I can fix my truck [hopefully].

we got back from the lan in alamosa around 6:15 — we cleaned up pretty hardcore, and had a damn good time to boot! I won a razor boomslang and a t-shirt … ummm … the ride back was really enjoyable, what with the loud music, hair-blowing wind and the open road. Quite nice.

Steve went to RamCon and he and his clan [SOB] took first place in Counter-Strike. That rocks a ton! I’m thinking that Mike, Craig, Ryan and I, clan [cs], should play him and his boys and show them how it’s done [grin].

Went and saw janelle too — that was rather enjoyable. I made sure to savor every moment cuz I probably won’t see her for like 9 days. We will definately be seeing the play — it’s a good one, and she techs for it too! We are planning on doing some shit tonight … don’t know for sure. Have a great day!

well, everyone made it out to alamosa just fine for the LAN party here. The drive was pretty uneventful, but we’re looking forward to rawkin’ hard all day tomorrow.

Also, went to a house party tonight … goddamn there were a *ton* of people there. I mean seriously, we couldn’t move. It was a nice long walk, and I think everyone enjoyed it …

That should just about do it … I’ll make sure to post like 20 times tomorrow while lanning — oh btw, I made sure to bring a web cam, so there should be some pics posted soon.

Craig and Mike just left to go to Kansas to pick up Ryan Parsons [aka spikey w00t] so that he can attend the LAN party in Alamosa with us. It’s like 20 hours round trip … they are out of their minds, but hey, that’s cool.

When I am using a Q-Tip to clean out my ears, and the ends of the stick, you know, the fluffy cotton parts, come off from the lollipop stick! I HATE THAT! Cuz then it gets all loose and ragged, sticks to your ear canal, stops working and generally sucks.

I thought they sonicly [sp?] welded those things to the little rod … how can they come off? I’m sure they get lots of complaints about them, but do they do anything besides push the idea of ‘use one that isn’t fubar’d’ ? Sure, that works, but it’s kind of wasteful on the Q-Tip resources — especially when a person doesn’t buy their own.

That Q-Tip falling apart … Jesus, that irritates the shit out of me.

been a little while since I posted, so here’s a recap. Uhh … monday … came to work. boring. went home, got computer, went to craig’s, played CS till like 4am. Came home, passed out, woke up around 9. Came to work at 10. boring. left work. went to craig’s. more cs till about 11:45 [yes, I know, dear]. Went home. Crashed. Woke up at 7. Dropped off truck @ firestone. got honda. came to work. boring. …

Now that that is said and done … I am going to alamosa this weekend to participate in a lan party there, instead of going to RamCon. RamCon sent out a waiver sheet that has some absurd requirements, that you have to accept to go:

[ ] I understand that there will be minors at the event. I will not bring alcohol, tobacco, or adult-oriented material to the event with intent to distribute them to minors. I understand that should I provide access to any of these to any underage attendee of the event, I will be prosecuted to the fullest extent allowed by law.

[ ] I will not participate in the illegal copying of any copyrighted material.

Now seriously, what good is a LAN if you can’t spread p0on and if you can’t leech the hell out of everything in sight? Oh, and the other ‘great’ part about RamCon — a 10mb network! That’s right! Despite having access to *TONS* of 10/100 switches & routers, the admins decided to go 10mb to stop the spreading of porn/warez and to stop internet traffic. Oh, and don’t forget that 3Com donated a lots of shitty-ass 10bT hubs for use … with the stipulation that if 3Com is going to be a sponsor, those hubs have to be used! Way to sell out, RamCon execs!!!
