went to laura’s birthday part on friday night … had a good time getting trashed. The dude from boulder wanted to plank emily … heh … laura is only a bitch around other people … and only to me … and last but not least, i am afraid of skate city. a good time was had by all.

I finally got the odbc / php thing to work with tony’s guidance to a microsoft knowledge base article … it works flawlessly — thanks! Only problem now is that my ftp program, which used to logon as a service under user ‘ftp_server’ refuses to do so now. for no reason. quite irritating. also, i worked a little bit on the php port. i feel like I’m losing steam there.

I think janelle is back in town; she has been idle on aim all day. don’t know though, because she could have logged in from somewhere and just left it.

sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you are.

On the way home tonight I was flicking through the radio stations and I came across ‘Sandstorm’ … don’t know who it was by, but it was a really good song. The part where it slows down and gets kind of low, then builds back up is really neat; I was groovin the whole time =) On to work … that’s what has been up. Just over 14 hours today; tons and tons of stuff to do with deadlines looming. I have to move approximately 140 websites onto our now semi-distributed network, create the dns entries, update with network solutions, transfer the databases and make sure that everything works. Not real difficult, just takes forever to do. And one final thing … anybody know anything about ASP / PHP and their ability to use ODBC databases that are on remote shares? I keep getting “unable to open file ‘(unknown)’ — error 8000450” … I had to give up at 11:30, still no juice.

Are we going to go see Final Fantasy tonight? I heard some rumors about it from the big tall guy, but am unsure of if they have any real worth … also, man, I was *super* drunk last night. Hahahahhaa. Also, I need to mow the goddamn lawn still. Just thinking about that makes me go “ungh”. Also, this post signifies that the PHP based version of this website actually does work; it even allows me to use ‘ and ” and ? and &. It’s pretty nice =) props to my mad programming skills.

At least that’s the plan, heh …

Mom called on the phone and heard the ‘leave a message’ message I have on there that kind of sums up what’s going on. She completely tripped out about the dead truck; she’ll be calling this morning @ 7am [ungh]. I’ll then have the opportunity to tell them about my truck, uccs, and gateway … and with that, I’m off to 5 1/2 hours of sleep.

Didn’t do much of anything of any real value today. I wrote up a lot of stuff for the php-conversion but that’s about it. Went out with tore for some ol’ fashioned conversation; it was good. Other than that, I’m just at home chillin’. Anyone doing anything today [sunday] ? I am thinking I’d be down for some low-intensity stuff if anyone wants to get together.

Janelle leaves for the east coast in a couple hours to scout colleges. I’m jealous [grin] … actually, yea, I am. hrmm. I hope all goes well and that some fabulous place recognizes her good qualities and gives her some $.

On another note, I need to do the dishes, do the laundry, mow the lawn and clip my fingernails. Exciting schedule, eh?

Had a rather boring day at work today; didn’t do a whole lot, didn’t get much done. I was pretty icey all day … not sociable to any stretch. Anywho, went to Tony’s party and it was good. Lots of people, plenty of booze — I didn’t drink a drop; too much risk there. A police officer showed up around 12:45 and broke things up. I didn’t stick around for whatever happened; as soon as cspd showed, I was gone. Hope nothing horrible came of it.

On a much better note, it is 2:15 am and I am tired. Physically tired, though; my mind has been long since derailed and is steadily steaming to wherever it’s going. So, I’m sure I’ll have a fitful, mind-awake night — at least it’s sleep. I am actually tired to the point where I don’t want to code the php to make some stuff functional for the port. that’s a good sign. ‘night

Couldn’t sleep for a damn last night. I stayed up till almost 4 am because I couldn’t sleep. At 1am, I figured I would be pretty tired as I hadn’t slept the night before. Nope, not tired at all. So I wrote some more of the php-conversion stuff for the site, then laid down. That didn’t work at all. Up at 2:30, a little more coding, then some relaxing reading, then finally, a little after 4am, I fell asleep. For an hour and a half. I awoke with a screaming headache and a hurting stomach. I didn’t drink anything last night, but I figure that’s what feeling hungover is like [minus the groggy-headedness]. It was complete bullshit.

Was getting dressed and popped the button off my cargo’s. Then I proceeded to find out that my sewing skills aren’t as poor as I thought; I actually got the button back on there, and I don’t think it’s going anywhere. Went to the insurance place to give them a copy of my driver’s license and found out that 1/2 my church congregation works there. That was irritating as fuck. But I was calm. Then I came to work.

Got a phone call from Jan McKinley this morning, HR @ Gateway. Assuming I sign the paperwork and pass both the background check and urinalysis I am hired there at $12.50/hr for training [5 weeks], 4pm – 1am, then I work the 3:30pm – 12:30am shift for a starting pay of $13.50/hr. I am pleased.

I am just insanely irritable. I don’t know what the hell is going on, but I don’t want to talk to anyone, and I don’t want to do nothing, and I just want to bitch and be mean. I don’t know why. Grrr. [Irritated a lot]. Talked with matt until about 6am this morning. It was good. Found out why some people are fucked up, why others are not quite so. Found out that one of the things I fear the most is getting in a rut; living the work-friends-home cyclical trauma would inspire me to suicide.

I burn inside. I loathe, I growl, I ache. I am tired; I did not sleep last night. My mind. Too fast. No sleep. Not yet. 19 soon. Too soon. Too young, not old yet. [sigh] My Irritation. My Deprecation. Your Masturbation. Horrible cycle. Stop.

So I chanced it and drove my truck down to the transmission place and told the guy what was happening [high pitched whine in second, horrible sounding third]. He said ‘let’s go for a ride,’ so we did. He drove, and he said ‘well, the second gear bearing is out, and the third gear synchros are about toast. Oh, and your clutch is dying a rapid death. I sat there aghast. He said it would cost about $1600 to have fixed. I told him that I had work done in december and that the tranny and clutch were replaced. He said ‘well, I’d take it back to where it was done.’ I said ‘I’m already here.’ He says ‘oh, you had it done here?’ — he said it with real, genuine concern: I was astounded. He asked ‘do you have the paperwork’ — pulled it out, handed it to him. He made a photocopy of it, asked for my key and said ‘it will be ready sometime next week. do you need a loaner car?’ I said no, but a ride to work would be nice. No questions asked, no hassle, just the paperwork and him being honestly saddened that the shops work didn’t last. I am thoroughly impressed.

On that note, I have no car. I need a ride home sometime today – free beer and rum to whoever gives me a one!
